Dark Dove I

The Last Judgment, Hans Memling, 1467-1471

In time we’re forced, our daily plight;

we’re bourne to live in mourning light.

As time doth draw upon our sight,

it drives our surly appetite.

And in its ways and sullen wares,

this dreadful erudite leaves us bare.
